Finding some Common ground

roswell house 33Sure it’s true that every individual or couple has a different set of needs and wants when searching for their dream home. I do believe though that most everyone wants a house that is unique and stands out from the pack. The idea of cookie cutter developments and home production set on “repeat” just doesn’t cut it for me. Of course, this is one of the reasons that my wife and I love this area.

A new listing in the Hamilton Commons subdivision provides us this common ground today with a unique listing. 115 Oxford Grove Court, 30075 came on the market today listed for $549,000. Click directly on the image of the home to view the details on this home for sale.

This subdivision is also right off of Etris Road in a similar location to our feature yesterday. Overall, there is really nothing not to like about this location. The Hamilton Commons subdivision is also a top notch community which features the family centric swimming pool and tennis. The community is not monstrous but is a decent sized development which dates back to the late 1980′s. This is a home that can be purchased with a different level of confidence given all of the positives with basically zero negatives assuming the commute opportunities make sense.

The Crabapple Oaks Subdivision is a relatively new community with 13 country estate homes that were built a few years ago. The development has struggled like many new construction developments to wrap things up. One question I would raise in this situation is the lack of any homeowner’s association dues. The listing information shows them as being $0 so the question must be raised about who is responsible and who pays for landscaping and common area upkeep. I’m also curious about the bank programs being offered for this home as well. Which bank and what is being offered? Read the rest of this entry »

School board approves 177 day calendar

Fulton County students will see an additional 10 minutes added to their school days next year when five half-days are eliminated, resulting in a 177-day calendar for the 2010-2011 school year.

The Fulton County Board of Education approved a shorter calendar year, which will result in $1.1 million in annual savings, at a meeting Thursday.

New guidelines allow schools to deviate from the standard 180-day calendar as long as there is no reduction in instructional hours, and there is an 8.85 hour increase in the new calendar year. Read the rest of this entry »

Roswell vs Milton

Roswell vs Milton. Milton vs Roswell. Which location is better? Which city has the most to offer for my family?

This is like asking which is better…chocolate chip cookies or chocolate cake? Muhammed Ali or Joe Frazier? Backstreet Boys or N’Sync (did I really just say that?) Ultimately, it depends on what you’re in the mood for. These two cities just happen to be my favorite cities in metro Atlanta and the center of my real estate business. This site is dedicated to Roswell but Milton is just as important to what I do and overall it is just as impressive as Roswell although for different reasons. In fact, just recently my wife and I seriously considered moving from Roswell to Milton. Read the rest of this entry »
